ICE

ICE (In Case of Emergency)

Mobile devices have become apart of our lives. These pieces of technology are a person’s memory and conduit to the world at large (games not withstanding).

A documentary I saw awhile ago on the 2005 London Bombings reported the observation that blast scenes were littered with mobile devices. After hearing about that tidbit, I came to appreciate the effort to tie person to device to loved ones.

A couple of years later when I went to set up contacts in a new phone, my ICE contact was the first agenda item.

Now that I have a venue to share information and ideas, I was struck by the thought, “Do others know about the importance of the ICE contact”?

The idea has been taken further with a mobile app for both Apple and Android. Details for the app can be found here.
